The Color Run San Diego is hosted each year and is made up of a 5K race, tons of bright colors, and a lot of good times. There is a sign up procedure for racers that involves a registration fee, but others can volunteer or just show up on race day to watch the show. A San Diego charity is selected to receive a portion of the money that is gathered during the event.
The race starts at 9:00 AM, and then colors will fly through the air every five minutes after the start of the race. The colored corn starch is thrown by the Color Bomb Squad (a group of volunteers) at all of the racers that move past them. There is no need to worry about toxic chemicals in the colors being thrown because the powdered color is just corn starch. Racers will be awarded the opportunity to throw colored corn starch at their friends and other runners once they cross the finish line.
The charity that will surely be benefitting from the Color Run San Diego is named Deaf Community Services of San Diego. This choice was made because the main objective of this charity is to enhance the lives of members of the deaf and hard of hearing community by means of education, advocacy, and presenting access to services. Other organizations will also benefit, and a unique charity is chosen for each city that hosts a race.
The Color Run San Diego provides a unique t-shirt to everybody who takes part in the event. The words The Art of Running are printed on the shirts for runners, but volunteers of the Color Bomb Squad will receive a totally different shirt. In addition to the t-shirt, racers will also receive sunglasses, a racing big, and other cool gear from the sponsors after signing up. People of all ages are encouraged to get involved, and racers under the age of 7 can run for free.
Racers and volunteers alike would have a great time at the Color Run San Diego, and everyone is certain to have a good time. Each year the 5K Color Run is held by several cities who all give back to a charity in the community. People of all ages are welcome to attend as a racer, volunteer, or a spectator, and the more people that attend, the merrier. The race isn't over when the multicolored runners go across the finish line, and everyone can hang out with friends while savoring the food, drink, and live music.
